Move and swap your heroes in Legend of Defenders
To rearrange heroes in Legend of Defenders, use the plain TEAM button at the bottom of the character panel. It is beside, and to the right of, the dropdown for Team 1, Team 2 and Team 3. The player who asked about dragging heroes confirmed that this was the button they had missed.

Open TEAM, then change the arrangement
- Open the character panel for your existing lineup.
- Find the ordinary TEAM button at the bottom. Do not stop at the team-number dropdown.
- Use that team-arrangement function to drag or swap the heroes' positions.
- Check the resulting lineup before continuing the battle.
The original question described removing heroes and redeploying them one by one. The developer pointed to the bottom button; the original poster then identified it precisely as TEAM, rather than the Team 1/2/3 selector.
Moving a hero does not unlock a new slot
This route is for rearranging a lineup you can already deploy. If you cannot place another hero, captain or gem at all, first check the lower-left quest-book requirements.
The confirmation establishes the arrangement function. It is not evidence that every unit can be dragged freely during a running battle or that a captain can occupy a normal hero slot.
Check the result
Your intended positions should change while the correct units remain in the lineup. If you only changed the selected team number, return to the separate TEAM button. If the current interface no longer matches that location, retain a screenshot of the character panel when asking for help.
